dc.description.abstract | This research aimed to describe the application of packaging-based product innovation on
banana chip products that belong to UD. Shabrina in Lumajang. Based on the title, problem, and
objective, this research used qualitative research method. Informants involved in the research
were five people, consisting of two people from the company, two people were consumers, and
another as the competitor of from UD. Shabrina. The research used in-depth interview technique
to obtain information and data from the informants. Data analysis used domain analysis and
taxonomic analysis. Based on the research results, the application of product innovation on the
basis of product packaging of banana chips at UD. Shabrina had three elements of its product
packaging, that is, on the elements of color, material, and image. Innovation in color element
was applied by developing aluminum foil packaging which was made less transparent, so that
consumers do not feel cheated with the contents of the packaging products. Innovation in
materials was applied to the development of aluminum foil packaging to reach a wider market.
Innovation in packaging image was applied to the brand, logo and illustration contained on the
packaging of banana chips of UD. Shabrina, which aimed to make the banana chip product of
UD. Shabrina can be accepted positively by the consumers in the market. | en_US |
