Japan's fishery industry is an industry that is guaranteed by the Government of Japan.
The fishery industry can maintain a stable production level each year. However, a
decline in production and export value of the fishery industry occured in 2011. This was
triggered by the natural disasters that struck Japan in 2011. Japan suffered material and
non-material losses. This study will examine the factors and the reasons of Japanese
policy in fishery industry after natural disasters in 2011. This study used David Easton
Political System Model concept and Public Policy concept from James E. Anderson to
answer the question on what policy Japanese government made for fishery industry after
natural disasters in 2011. Methodologically, this study used descriptive research method,
from 2011 to 2014. This paper concludes that the Japanese government’s policies in
fishery industry after natural disasters occurred in 2011 were mitigation, reconstruction,
and revitalization.
