dc.description.abstractThis research aimed to determine the China’s reasons for rejecting oil sanctions against Iran. The object of this research is the Iran oil embargo. However, this study is limited only to China's refusal to the US embargo sanction on Iran. The study started from the growth of China's economy to China's policy maintain the purchases of Iran oil which became the base of discussion of embargo rejection formally. In this regard, China's refusal over oil embargo was related to China's inability to meet the needs of domestic oil in the country. China should look for sources of oil to meet domestic oil consumption. China purchased oil from various countries; Iran became one of suppliers of China's oil needs. However, when the Iranian nuclear issue was not over, the United States attempted to impose sanctions against Iran oil by trying to persuade China to stop the oil transactions with Iran. Furthermore, this study discusses China’s reasons for rejecting Iran oil embargo. China was trying to mediate the nuclear issue in order that it still could import oil from Iran. One of the China’s reasons to still purchase Iran oil was to meet the needs of oil.en_US
