Dampak Kecelakaan Pembangkit Tenaga Nuklir Fukushima Daiichi Terhadap
Abstract
Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant accident is one of the biggest nuclear accidents after
Three Miles Island, United States and Chernobyl, Ukraine. The use of nuclear technology to fulfill
energy needs and to reduce carbon emission should consider the impacts on human security. There
are seven categories of human security i.e., environmental, food, personal, community, and
political security. IAEA has determined that INES of level 7 affects the environmental and
economic security. This research describes the impacts of Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant
accident on environmental and economic security during 2011-2014. The threats to environmental
security are the contamination and the spread of radioactive substances that cause people to lose
their homes which give impacts on economic security. The amount of compensation given to the
victims of nuclear power plant accident was insufficient to sustain their economy. Threats to
economic security are also shown by decline in agricultural production, which made Japan exports
and business transactions decrease.
