dc.description.abstract | Joko Tole and baru Muncul are two groups of farmers which are in the Karangharjo village, Jember District of Silo who are already using organic fertilizers in agriculture. They make their own organic fertilizers, compost, from the mixture of forage and cow dung. Constraints faced by the composting process is inefficient and time consuming because of the use of traditional tools in producing compost. In this IbM, we introduced and transfered the technology of chopper, as the modern tool available for making compost. The use of chopper aimed at speeding up the process so that the fertilizer produced is increase. Commercial production of compost need management
improvements, so we conducted good management training for farmers groups and cooperatives as the marketer of the product. One of the things that support quality compost is the content of N , P and K which can be increased by improving the animal feed used as compost with straw fermentation technology. | en_US |
