HUBUNGAN SUPERVISI KEPALA RUANG DENGAN KEPATUHAN TENAGA KEPERAWATAN DALAM PENGGUNAAN ALAT PELINDUNG DIRI SEBAGAI UPAYA PENCEGAHAN INFEKSI NOSOKOMIAL DI RSU dr. H. KOESNADI BONDOWOSO

Abstract

Supervision is one of the important activity of the actuating function in management function. A good supervision of nurse manager can direct the nursing staff in providing nursing care to patients especially in the prevention of nosocomial infection with obediently in using personal protective equipment. The aim of this research was to analyze of correlation between supervision of nurse manager with the nursing staff compliance in use of personal protective equipment as nosocomial infection prevention efforts. This research was observasional analitic using study cross sectional. Method of collecting samples cluster sampling and total of samples got are 50 respondents. Data were analyzed using chi square test and the resulted of statistical test showed value of p as 0.001 (α = 0,05) which means there was a significant correlation between supervision of nurse manager with the nursing staff compliance in use of personal protective equipment as nosocomial infection prevention efforts in dr. H. Koesnadi Hospital in Bondowoso. Supervision of nurse manager with categorized as not good has 28 respondents (56%) meanwhile the respondent as inobedient has 30 respondents (60%). Supervision of nurse manager periodically with supervision format needed to increase the nursing staff compliance in used of personal protective equipment. In addition, training, giving reward, punishment, and poster of Standard Operational Procedure about used of personal protective equipment on the wall are also needed to increase the nursing staff’s consciousness and comprehension.
