dc.description.abstractvarious problems either medically, socially and economically. The problems can affect the client’s confidence, and the client's self-esteem can be low. Program of leprosy self-care group, in addition to improving the ability of performing personal activities, is to improve self esteem of clients. This research aimed to analyze the differences in self-esteem between leprosy clients who were active and inactive in attending self-care group. The research applied observational analytic type by cross sectional method. The number of samples was 38 people consisting of 19 active people and 19 inactive people in self-care group by using total sampling. The research results showed that the average value of active clients’ self-esteem was 32.89 and that of inactive clients’ selfesteem was 29.11. The data obtained by t-independent statistical test showed p value 0.000 <0.05. The conclusion is that there is a difference in self-esteem between leprosy clients who are active and inactive in attending self-care group. Based on this research, suggestions for the client to be more active in participating the activities in self-care group. Family, community and health agencies can support clients to be active in these activities.en_US
