dc.description.abstractPatient’s preparation to go home during treatment time was an ability to perform care activities taught by nurses with their knowledge, experience, skill and willing. One of interventions to increase family’s readiness was by giving discharge planning. This was a quasy experimental research with non randomized control group pretest posttest design. Samples were 20 patients picked out by quota sampling technique. The result showed that family readiness in intervention group before discharge planning were given, 80% of samples categorized as lacking then after discharge planning were given the result increased to 100% samples were ready. Data were analyzed by Wilcoxon Matched Pair obtained p value of 0.004 with confidence level of 95%. The conclusion of this study was there was a significant difference between family readiness before and after discharge planning were given to patients. Mann Whitney U-Test performed and obtained p value of 0.000, this means there were also a significant difference between intervention group and control group.hereby recommended to health workers to improve discharge planning in hospital by using attractive medias to improve family readiness.en_US
