dc.description.abstractPostpartum depression is feeling sad after childbirth. Depression that sustainable more than few days reflect a serious psychological issue. One of the intervention given by a nurse in preventing the occurrence of postpartum depression is discharge planning. Discharge planning is a process of learning that involves patients and families with good communication and direction to increase the knowledge and the ability of patients to care themselves after at home. The purpose of this study was to compare the incident of postpartum depression between intervention group and control group. The design of this study was pre experimental with static group comparison design. Technique sampling used quota sampling with 30 respondents. The analyzed used Mann-Whitney with 95% CI (a:0,05) and got p-value 0,034(< a=0,05) as the result. The result showed that the incident of postpartum depression of mother who did not get discharge planning was 40% and the incident of postpartum depression of mother who got discharge planning was 6,7%. The conclusion was there is a significant effect of discharge planning to prevent the incident of postpartum depression. Based on this research, nurses should apply of dicharge planning as nurses intervention by making the standart operational procedure in the hospital.en_US
