dc.description.abstract | The Sound of Music is a novel written by Maria Augusta Von Trapp. It is
published in 1953. The Sound of Music is generally based on the first section of
Maria’s book The Story of the Trapp Family Singers published in 1949. Actually, this
novel is Maria Augusta’s expression of her life experience in Austria. Through her
novel, Maria Augusta shows her religiousness applied in her daily life.
The Reflection of Maria Augusta’s Religious Life in The Sound of Music is
the title of this discussion. Then, in the problem to discuss the writer wants to make
the discussion clear by discussing how Maria Augusta’s religiousness is reflected in
her physical appearance, her way of speaking, her deeds and her attitude.
The data used in this thesis collected by library research and also data from
any printed material such as books, articles, papers or Internet sites.
Meanwhile, the method used by the writer in this thesis is inductive method
where the writer tries to draw a conclusion of certain knowledge from particular way
to the general. It starts by discussing about Maria Augusta’s religiousness generally
and making conclusion about her religiousness particularly in her physical
appearance, her way of speaking, her deeds and her attitude.
From the data analysis, we can find how Maria Augusta’s religiousness
applied in her daily life can influence the people surround her to live in the same way
and how she proves her religiousness through her physical appearance, her way of
speaking, her deeds and her attitude which are stated in the novel. | en_US |
