Abstract
Tuberculosis (TB) is the second largest cause of death after coronavirus (Covid-19) and causes deaths twice as high as HIV/AIDS. Tuberculosis is a chronic infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Data from the East Java Health Service in 2023 states that Jember is in third place with the highest TB cases in East Java with a total of 5.603 cases. The main factor cause incidence of TB is physical environmental factors. Poor physical home environment causes Mycobacterium tuberculosis to live and reproduce. The research aims to determine the relationship between the physical home environment and the incidence of pulmonary tuberculosis in Jember. This research uses an analytical observational study with a cross-sectional design. This research was conducted in 15 health center areas in Jember from May to October 2024. The samples in this research were 100 respondents. Secondary data collection was taken from Sistem Informasi Tuberkulosis (SITB) and primary data collection was carried out by interviewing respondents. The results of bivariate analysis showed that lighting was related to incidence of pulmonary tuberculosis in Jember. The results of multivariate analysis of the variables lighting, temperature, humidity, residential density, floor type and wall type, there are no relationship with incidence of pulmonary tuberculosis in Jember. There is a need for further research regarding the relationship between the physical home environment and incidence of pulmonary tuberculosis in Jember by adding other risk factors that have not been studied and homogenizing.
