    Pengaruh Perendaman dalam Tablet Effervescent Ekstrak Biji Edamae (Glycine max L. Merrill) terhadap Kekuatan Fleksural Resin Akrilik Heat-Cured

    Abstract
    Edamame seed effervescent tablet is one of the natural denture cleansers that has been explored for the past few years, because of its contains antifungal and antibacterial compounds, such as phenol, that have the potential to reduce the flexural strength of heat-cured acrylic resin. However, some research suggested that phenol potentially reduced mechanical properties of acrylic resin. We amied to evaluate this effect on the flexural strength of heat-cured acrylic resin, which still barely studied. Because of that, this research tries to determine it. The research design was a post-test only control group design. A total of 27 acrylic resin samples were divided into three groups: group soaked in steriled distilled water for 11 days, group soaked in commercial effervescent tablets (Polident) for 11 days, and group soaked in 50% edamame seed extract effervescent tablets for 11 days. The flexural strength as anayzed using a UTM (Universal Testing Machine). The results of flexural strength test showed that the group soaked with steriled distilled water had the highest strength of 166,46 𝑁/𝑚𝑚2, second highest was the group soaked in edamame seed effervescent tablet at 131,81 𝑁/𝑚𝑚2, and the lowest was group soaked in commercial effervescent tablets at 117,03 𝑁/𝑚𝑚2. Data was analyzed using OneWay ANOVA test, followed the Post-Hoc LSD test. The results showed a significant difference (p<0,05) in the mean value of flexural strength in the group soaked in distilled water compared to the group soaked in commercial effervescent tablets (Polident) and 50% edamame seed effervescent tablets, while between the group soaked in commercial effervescent tablets (Polident) and 50% edamame seed effervescent tablets there was no significant difference. The conclusion of this study is that 50% edamame seed extract effervescent tablets have an effect on the flexural strength of heat-cured acrylic resin.
