Gambaran Kepercayaan Diri pada Pasien Diabetes Melitus Tipe 2 di Poli Penyakit Dalam RSD dr. Soebandi Jember
Abstract
Introduction: Patients with type 2 DM will be very susceptible to acute and
chronic complications that can affect the quality of human resources. A person
with a chronic disease who cannot overcome the problems experienced will lose
confidence to recover from his disease. Objective: This study aims to determine
the picture of self-confidence in type 2 diabetes mellitus patients at the Internal
Medicine Poly of dr. Soebandi Jember Hospital. Methodology: This study is a
descriptive research with a quantitative approach. The number of samples in this
study was 257 respondents with the sampling technique used, namely quota
sampling. Data collection used the test of self confidence questionnaire. Results:
The average age of type 2 DM patients was 53.23 years, the female gender was
59.5%, the majority of respondents were junior high school graduates (41.6%),
the most occupation was found as housewives (31.9%), and the majority of people
who had type 2 DM for a long time were >3 years old (72.8%). The results of the
confidence variables of type 2 diabetes mellitus patients obtained were the strong
category (54.5%), the average strong (38.9%), very strong (5.1%), and the
average weak category (1.6%).Conclusion: The majority of type 2 DM patients at
the Internal Medicine Poly of dr. Soebandi Jember Hospital have strong
confidence. Based on this study, it is hoped that type 2 DM patients can maintain
and increase their confidence by increasing knowledge and motivation, so that
they can increase their confidence and continue to be enthusiastic in the treatment
process.
