Abstract
The practice of providing complementary breast milk (MPASI) is a problem that often occurs in Indonesia. This has the impact of inadequate nutrition and nutritional intake for children during their growth period, insufficient animal protein which is less than optimal will have an impact on stunting children's growth. A fatal thing that might happen is that the child experiences stunting when he is >2 years old. Stunting is a chronic nutritional problem where children experience inadequate quality and quantity of food, where the zscore value is <-2SD. This study used a cross-sectional approach with the aim of finding out the relationship between giving MPASI and the risk of stunting in babies aged 6-24 months in the Jember. The number of samples in Jelbuk and Sumberjambe districts was 109 using a purpose sampling approach. Most of the research samples were at risk of stunting (93.6%) and (6.4%) were not at risk of stunting, while 95,57% had poor complementary feeding and 3,6% had good MPASI. The results of bivariate analysis used Fisher P=0.001, thus there was a significant relationship between the variables. So, between the variables studied, there is a relationship, namely between giving MPASI and the risk of stunting.
