Hubungan Harga diri dengan Aktualisasi Diri pada Remaja Panti Asuhan di LKSA Kabupaten Jember
Abstract
Orphanage adolescent’s who have low self-esteem will find it difficult to express their desires, interests and talents so that the self-potential of orphanage adolescent’s is not formed optimally, so that effect of low self-actualization values. The research aimed to determine the relationship between self-esteem and self-actualization in orphanage adolescent in LKSA Jember Regency. The research design used correlational analysis with a cross sectional design. The samples used were 178 samples using total sampling and used the Pearson correlation test with p<0,05. More than half 53.3% respondents had a low level of self-esteem and almost three quarter (73%) respondents had partial actualization values. The Pearson correlation test shows that there is a significant relationship between self-esteem and self-actualization in orphanage adolescent in LKSA Jember Regency with a significance p-value = 0,001 and has a positive direction of relationship. The conclusion of this research is The higher self-esteem, the higher also self-actualization. Therefore, the role of community nurses as counselors, educators and care providers is needed in providing education regarding low self-esteem as well as providing group activity therapy for orphanage youth who need intervention.
