Hubungan National Early Warning Score dengan Transfer Intensive Care Unit pada Pasien di Ruang Instalasi Gawat Darurat Rumah Sakit Tk. III Baladhika Husada Jember
Abstract
Patients in the Emergency Department (ED) in critical condition require ICU transfers to receive intensive care and reduce adverse outcomes. However, ICU transfers without clear identification can increase length of stay and costs. Accurate identification of high-urgency patients using NEWS is important for patient safety because misclassification of patients leads to delays in diagnosis, treatment, and transfer to the ICU. The aim of this study was to determine the relathionship between National Early Warning Score and Transfer Intensive Care Unit in the Emergency Department patients at Tk. III Baladhika Husada Hospital. The method in this research is a cross sectional with retrospective data collection. This study used a purposive sampling technique. The sample in this research was 313 patients in the Emergency Department who were admitted from July to September 2023. Data collection using observation sheets containing respondent characteristics, NEWS, and intra-hospital patient transfers. Data was analyzed using the Spearman’s rho test. The Test results showed p-values of <0.001 which mean the
results show p-values < 0.05. This results means that the alternative hypothesis is accepted, there is a relathionship between National Early Warning Score and Transfer Intensive Care Unit in the Emergency Department patients at Tk. III Baladhika Husada Hospital. The conclusion of this research is National Early Warning Score independently associates with Intensive Care Unit transfer among Emergency Department patients.
