    Abstract
Asthenopia (eyestrain) is a group of symptoms associated with visual, ocular, and musculoskeletal disorders that often occur after working at a computer, reading, or other near vision activities. Most residents of Blawe Village work as curtain and mosquito net tailors, which can increase the risk of eyestrain because sewing is a job that requires a high level of visual acuity. The purpose of this study was to analyze the risk factors of asthenopia in tailors of the convection industry located in Blawe Village, Kediri District. The sample of this study was taken by total sampling technique, that are 49 tailors of convection industry in Blawe Village, Kediri District. Data were analyzed in three stages, such as univariate analysis, bivariate analysis using Spearman's rho and Chi-Square methods, and multivariate analysis using logistic regression methods. The majority of tailors in the convection industry in Blawe Village, Kediri Regency experienced asthenopia, which amounted to 57.8% of respondents. Based on the results of bivariate analysis using Spearman’s Rho and Chi-Square, there was an association between individual factors, including age (P = 0.017) and refractive error (P = 0.045); environmental factors, including lamp power (P = 0.026) and light intensity (P = 0.013); and occupational factors, including work period (P = 0.000) and work duration (0.002) with the incidence of asthenopia. In the multivariate analysis using the logistic regression method, the work duration variable was the most significant variable affecting the incidence of asthenopia (OD = 3.048). Suggestions for future research can conduct research using different variables. In addition, it is also recommended for the owner of the convection industry in Blawe Village, Kediri Regency to pay attention to individual, environmental, and occupational factors in order to prevent the incidence of asthenopia for tailors.
