Analysis of Nursing Care for Fournier Gangrene Patients with Nursing Acute Pain using Benson Relaxation Therapy Intervention in The Mawar Room of Dr. Soebandi Hospital Jember

Abstract

Introduction: Pain is the main problem experienced by many postoperative patients. One of the therapies for patients with Fournier gangrene is surgery or necrotomy, so that patients with Fournier gangrene also feel pain after they undergo surgery. Pain will increase if there is movement in the injured area so that it can reduce the condition of muscle tension and joint range of motion. Purpose: This study aims to analyze benson relaxation therapy to reduce pain in postoperative Fournier gangrene patients in the Mawar Room of RSD Dr. Soebandi Jember. Method: The method used in this research is a descriptive case study. The study was conducted for three days on one postoperative patient in the Mawar Room of RSD Dr Soebandi Jember. Benson therapy is carried out twice a day with a duration of 10-15 minutes. Results: The results of this study found that Benson therapy could reduce the acute level of pain in Fournier gangrene patients from a pain scale of 8 NRS to a pain scale of 3 NRS with an average pre- therapy of 5.4 and post-therapy of 4. Discussion: Benson's relaxation therapy intends to help the effectiveness of analgesic drugs by improving the psychological structure by implementing relaxation that contains spiritual elements.
