PraRancangan Pabrik Pabrik Metil Salisilat dari Asam Salisilat dan Metanol dengan Proses Esterifikasi Kapasitas Produksi 4.000 Ton / Tahun
Abstract
As industry develops in Indonesia, the need for methyl salicylate will continue to
increase to meet industrial material needs. The need for methyl salicylate in
Indonesia still relies on imports, so it would be very appropriate for Indonesia to set
up a methyl salicylate factory. The methyl salicylate plant uses an esterification
process with raw materials of methanol of 921.8755 kg/hour and salicylic acid of
496.738 kg/hour and the addition of a catalyst in the form of tin oxide IV designed
with a capacity of 4,000 tons/year and an operating time of 330 days per year. The
production process is divided into three stages, namely mixing raw materials,
reaction stages and purification stages. The methyl salicylate production process is
under operating conditions at a temperature of 150oC with an overall pressure of 1
atm. This methyl salicylate factory will be established in Bontang District, Bontang
Regency, East Kalimantan Province with an estimated start of operation in 2028.
Based on the results of the economic analysis evaluation, it can be concluded that
the establishment of a methyl salicylate factory is feasible with details of an Annual
Cash Flow (ACF) of 24. 87%, Pay Out Time (POT) of 4 years, Rate of Return
(ROR) of 15.87% and Break Event Point (BEP) of 48.17%.
