Pra Rancangan Pabrik Sodium Thiosulfate Pentahydrate Kapasitas 15.000 Ton/Tahun
Abstract
Industrial development entering the 5.0 era is marked by increasing industrial
development, especially the chemical industry. The development of the chemical
industry can be marked by the establishment of new chemical factories to meet
domestic chemical needs. Sodium thiosulfate pentahydrate is a type of chemical that
has not yet been met and is obtained by importing it from producing countries.
Dependence on import activities can result in a reduction in the country's foreign
exchange, so action is needed to establish a sodium thiosulfate pentahydrate
factory. Sodium thiosulfate pentahydrate or what was previously called sodium
hyposulfide is a white solid formed from the reaction of sodium sulfite and sulfur
after boiling and evaporating. The use of sodium thiosulfate pentahydrate is as an
antichlor, a binding agent in photography, a washing agent for gold extraction, and
many others. The Sodium Thiosulfate Pentahydrate factory is planned to be
established in 2029 in the Cilegon Estate Industrial Area, West Java with a capacity
of 15,000 tons/year. The main raw materials for making sodium thiosulfate
pentahydrate are sodium sulfite and sulfur which are reacted in a CSTR reactor at
a temperature of 80˚C. From a technical and economic perspective, this factory is
feasible to establish.
