    Abstract
Lithium-ion batteries are one of the most essential resources in various applications, from proactive electronics to electric vehicles. However, to ensure optimal battery performance and reliability, it is crucial to understand and test the degradation that occurs during battery use. The established standard cycle protocol is vital in battery testing and characterization. The study uses 100 recharge cycles and various recharging speeds that risk the loss of capacity and lithium layer. Optimum usage is achieved with different charging rates depending on the type of battery. The simulation results obtained from the study are graphs of the relationship between the residual capacity of the lithium-ion battery and the outputs produced. Further results focused on the lithium-ion battery capacity reduction factors, i.e., lithium plating and the losses of lithium inventory associated with variations in battery recharging speed. The minimum loss of capacity due to lithium coating is lost when the battery is recharged at a charging rate of 0.4C, so a balance point is found in the charging speed to minimize capacity loss due to lithium coating. An increase in the amount of lithium that is missing from the system during this charging cycle is reduced and can improve the efficiency of the charging process. The results of this research are expected to provide a deeper insight into the performance and degradation of lithium-ion batteries in the context of realistic use. Research information can be used to develop more accurate degradation models and more effective battery management strategies.
