Pengaruh Tahapan Sintesis Hidrotermal dan Kalsinasi Terhadap Kristalinitas dan Energi Celah Pita Bahan Fotokatalis TiO2-N
Abstract
In this study successfully synthesized TiO2 – N material using hydrothermal method with one stage and two stages. Calcination was carried out on some of the synthesized materials. The research was conducted to determine the effect of the stages of the hydrothermal method and also the effect of calcination on crystallinity and also the bandgap energy produced in the synthesized material. The synthesized material TiO2 – N was obtained from synthesis using the hydrothermal method. The materials used in this study were Titaniun Tetraisoproxide (TTIP) as a TiO2 prexor, Urea (CO(NH2)2) as a nitrogen source. Urea is used with a ratio between urea and TTIP of 50%. The one-step synthesis was carried out by directly synthesizing TiO2 – N while the two-step synthesis was carried out by synthesizing TiO2 first and then TiO2 – N. The results showed that the one-step hydrothermal method produced lower crystal size and a higher crystallinity percentage than the two-step synthesis. The material synthesized by the one-step hydrothermal method produces a narrower bandgap energy than the two-stage one. The synthesized material that was carried out by calcination had a larger crystal size and a higher percentage of crystallinity than the material without calcination. Calcination also affects the band gap energy of the synthesized material where the synthesized material which is calcified has a narrower band gap energy than the material without calcination.
