Abstract
This study discusses the realist impression of The Medium film. The
purpose of this study is to identify the use of framing aspects and image
duration in supporting the realistic impression of The Medium film. The
research method used is a qualitative descriptive approach to analyze
various conditions and situations contained in the film The Medium. In
this study, Andre Bazin's realism theory is used to reduce scenes that have
a realistic impression, while cinematographic theory is used to observe
the use of framing aspects and image duration in the film. The results of
the study show that there are 5 scenes in The Medium that highlight
realist elements with a minimum duration of 1 minute, which is referred
to as the long take technique. The framing and duration of the images in
the film The Medium succeed in creating a realistic visual experience.
Cinematographic elements such as the type of shooting, camera angles,
