Hubungan Komunikasi Terapeutik Perawat dengan Kecemasan pada Pasien Pre Operasi Katarak di Rumah Sakit Tipe C Jember

Abstract

Surgical procedures can be regarded as a form of medical therapy intended to treat a particular disease, this action always provides a stressful experience, especially for patients who are undergoing a surgical procedure or surgery for the first time. The response of a threatening condition will trigger a condition in the form of an anxiety response. There are several factors that can control the level of anxiety suffered by preoperative patients, one of which is therapeutic communication carried out by nurses in preoperative patients.This study aimed to determine the relationship between nurse therapeutic communication and the anxiety felt in pre cataract surgery patients at Type C Hospital Jember. The research design was descriptive analytic, using cross-sectional research methods. This research used rank spearmen correlation analysis. The sample of this study was 48 pre cataract surgery patients using purposive sampling technique. The research instruments consisted of 3 types of questionnaires, namely demographic questionnaires, therapeutic communication questionnaires and APAIS questionnaires. The results of the analysis using the Spearmen correlation test obtained a p -value of 0.000 which means that the p-value <a = 0.05, meaning Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted with a correlation value of 0.673 which means it has a positive direction or direction.There is a relationship between nurse therapeutic communication with preoperative patient anxiety at Type C Hospital Jember with a strong correlation strength.
