dc.description.abstractThe long-term goal of the study is to breeding new superior soybean cultivars, high yielding, resistance to soybean leaves leaf rust disease and large seed size (≥ 13 g / 100 seeds). Large seed size preferred by tempe and tofu craftsmen in East Java ranges from 13 to 15 grams per 100 seeds of soybeans. Seed size above 15 g/ 100 seeds is often epidermis of torn seeds so as to accelerate the decrease of seed seedling power. The benefits of using leaf-resistant soybean plants caused by Phakopsora pachyrhizi (Syd.) Pathogens can reduce the use of fungicides so that they are more environmentally friendly. Research method for the introduction of large seed size genes through reciprocal selection using Japanese soy donor parent (Ryokko, R-75). Adapted cultivars to which the genes of large seed size are entered are UNEJ-1 and 2. After the seventh crossover, the resulting gene content of the crosses has been considered adequate (± 99.2%) for adapted cultivar. Furthermore, selection of F 7 strains with high yield yield, rust resistance and large seed size (above13 g / 100 seeds). Selection results show several lines of hope that are now being tested multilocation in KP Muneng (Probolinggo), KP-Ngale (Ngawi) for MK-1, MK-2, and MH year 2016.en_US
