Pengaruh Kompensasi dan Gaya Kepemimpinan Demokratis terhadap Kepuasan Kerja Karyawan PT. Ledokombo Jember
Abstract
Employee job satisfaction is an important issue that really needs to be considered in relation to the work productivity of employees. Dissatisfaction is directly related to the high level of demands and complaints of work. Workers with a low level of job satisfaction are very likely to carry out sabotage and various other negative behaviors. The efforts that companies can make to increase employee satisfaction are compensation and democratic leadership styles. A good compensation system will be able to provide satisfaction for employees and allow companies to acquire, hire and retain qualified employees. Many people assume that the democratic leadership style is the most ideal and most coveted leadership style. To some degree, this view can be said to be correct. But still it should not be forgotten that this leadership style cannot be applied consistently and constantly regardless of the situation the organization faces and regardless of the characteristics of the employees being led. This study was conducted with the aim of knowing and analyzing the influence of compensation and democratic leadership styles on employee job satisfaction. This research was conducted at PT. Ledokombo Jember, a family-owned company engaged in the export of Na-Oogst tobacco and the cultivation of various plantation commodities such as tobacco, coffee, cloves, kokoa, and rubber. The company is located on Jl. Gajah Mada No. 17, Kaliwates, Jember, East Java. The design of this study is explanatory research, with a population of all permanent employees of PT. Ledokombo Jember as many as 58 people with the census sampling method, so that all members of the population were used as samples in this study. The data used in the study are primary data and secondary data. The primary data was obtained from the results of interviews by distributing questionnaires to 58 respondents, while secondary data were obtained from books, websites, and various previous studies. The data analysis method used is multiple linear regression analysis. The study was conducted from March 9, 2022 to March 10, 2022 at the PT. Ledokombo Jember.
The results of the study using SPSS v.24 software showed that: 1) compensation has no significant effect on the job satisfaction of PT employees. Ledokombo Jember, and 2) democratic leadership style has no significant effect on the job satisfaction of PT. Ledokombo Jember.
