The hormonal contraceptive method is a method that includes hormones like estrogen, progesterone, and its derivatives. Among the hormonal contraceptive methods are pills, injections, and implants. Each method has different side effect to its user. The side effect of the hormonal contraceptive may create certain physiologic changes to the acceptor’s body image. Body image is one’s attitude towards his/her own body either consciously or unconsciously. These attitudes include perception and feeling over his/her body size, shape, function, appearance, as well as potential within the span of the past and present time which are continuously modified by new experiences that one individual has accepted. The body image can be measured using the Multidimensional Body Self Relations Questionnaire – Appearance Scale (MBSRQ - AS). This scale contains five dimensions namely appearance evaluation, appearance orientation, satisfaction over certain part of body, anxiety of becoming overweight and perception on the body size. The objective of this research was analyzing the difference of the body image of the acceptors who apply injection, pills, and implant contraceptives. This research was designed as an analytical observation research. Of 90 samples who met the required criterion, 3 groups were assigned, each containing 30 people designated for pills, injection, and implant acceptors. All of the individuals resided at Karangharjo village, the coverage area of Silo II Local Health Center Jember Regency. Based on the result of the research, the P value was generated using the Chi Square Test. Upon the testing, P value of 0,013 (0,013<0,05) was gained. This would mean that H0 was not accepted. The conclusion of this research stated that the difference of the body image of the acceptors of the pills, injection, and implant contraceptive methods existed.en_US
