Profil Kemampuan Siswa dalam Memecahkan Masalah Bangun Ruang Sisi Datar Berdasarkan Langkah Polya
Abstract
The objective of this research was to describe the profile of students' abilities in solving polyhedron problems. The problem solving process was carried out using the Polya stages. This research type is descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The subjects were 33 students in class IX. The instruments used were 3 questions describing problem solving tests and interviews. The results showed that of the 33 students, 6 students were in the high ability category, 19 students were in the medium ability category, and 8 students were in the low ability category. Subjects for interviews were conducted by selecting two students who had the highest scores for the high ability category, two students who had the lowest scores for the low ability category, and two students with average scores for the medium ability category. All students who have high problem solving abilities can complete all stages of Polya well. However, the majority of class IX students still experience difficulties in solving problems and determining the results because students who have medium problem solving abilities and low problem solving abilities were not careful in carrying out the calculation process and using concepts.
