A Study on Satire Toward Society Through The Four Characteers' Attitude in Austen's Northanger Abbey

Abstract

This thesis is written fir presenting the way how jane austen uses characters to criticize the society. As a member of her society jane austen wants to express her feelings, opinions or thoughts toward what goes on around her. She is not happy with the situation that she wants to give the contribution to create a better social condition. In this regard, this study intends to analyze how jane austen uses the satire to criticize the society in the romantic period through the four characters' attitude in the novel.
