Standard English Grammar

Abstract

The subject of Standard English Grammar is one of the required subjects in the English Education Study Program that is taught to the English students at the first semester for new English students. The objective of teaching this subject is to enable the English students to master and use the materials of Standard English Grammar as a means of communication either in the spoken forms (speaking and listening) and written forms (writing and reading). Since the position of English in Indonesia as a foreign language that is not used as a means of communication in daily life, English, mainly English grammar is not easy for the students to master. It means that the students still have problems in learning and mastering the English grammar. One of the causes of the problem is the different system between the English grammar and the Indonesian grammar.
