The Ideas of Black Feminism as Reflected on The Female Characters in Alice Walker's The Color Purple

Abstract

The last chapter of this study is meant to show the conclution that the writter obtains after analyzing the data. The Color Purple is undoubtedly Walker's most popular novel that has influenced millions of people throunghout the world. While analyzing the novel, the writer finds out that the issues of gender gaps as the result os sexism have always been interesting issues to be discussed. Not only are they the problem overburdening black women of the middle class in the United States, but also most women in the whole world from time to time. Gender myths that are created by the patriarchal tradition distinguish women from men economically, socially, and politically. All women are characteristically feminine and all men are characteristically masculine.
