Abstract: The phenomenon which occurs in the community is the involvement of women in the work fild. Parenting is an influential way in the growth of children by educating them well. This research was to identify the description of parenting performance on working mother toward toddlers. The research design was retrospective descriptive research with quantitative approach. The technique of collecting data performed was purposive sampling by taking 75 working mother respondents with preschool age children. Data collection was conducted by spreading questionnaires of parenting performance for toddlers to the respondents. From the data analysis, it resulted that the average age of working mother in Darsono Village, Arjasa District, Jember Regency was 27 years old that worked as labor (48%) with working time 6 hours per day (48%). Most of them got low income which were less than the regional minimum wage (UMR) of Jember regency (82.7%) and were only graduated from elementary school (60%). Major number of mother only had fewer than 2 children (70.7%). The additional caregivers were included children’s grandmothers and grandfathers (64%). The description of parenting performance for toddlers on working mother at Darsono Village, Arjasa District, Jember Regency was moderate by showing on the precentage of 74.7% while only 25.3% was valued good parenting performance. Toddlers had high egocentric character so that mothers should teach a discipline and provided behavioral constraints. Moreover, a good parenting performance is indicated by stimulating toddlers growth according to their age; and providing a safe environment as well as physically, emotionally, spiritually, and socially positive.
