Background: In dentistry, tooth extraction is a frequent dental treatment. One of the most considerations in tooth extraction treatment is the healing process post-extraction. Healing process consists of three phases, I.e. inflammation, fibrobl astic and remodeling. The majority cell involved in healing process is fibroblast. As the tissues are being inflamed, fibroblasts migrate to the wound area, proliferate and produce collagen matrixes to repair damaged tissue. Fibroblasts originated fibrocytes surrounding the wound tissue configurate collagen fiber on the 3 day. Collagen synthesis attains the peak on the 5 th to 7 th rd day. Objective: This paper was aimed to review the role of fibroblasts in healing process especially after in post-extraction. Conclusion: In the wound healing process after tooth extraction, fibroblasts played a role in a connecti ve tissue proliferation through the formation of collagen matrix in damaged tissue.en_US
