Abstract

ackground: Special needs children have moderate to poor oral health. This can arise the risk of oral health problems and can reduce quality of life. Poor oral health in the special needs children has correlation with their limitations in brushing. These are due to psychomotor disorders, physical limitations, anatomical conditions of the oral cavity, diet and environmental conditions that do not support. Objective: The aim of this article was to review the effectiveness of an alternative brushing tool called T-bandable. Discussion: T-Bandable was created to help special needs children for their teeth brushi ng. Moreover, it improved their oral health. This tool has a simple design that created to help special needs children with psychomotor disorders. Of note, T-Bandable can be used at all levels of special needs care. Conclusion: T-bandable could be used for special need children when it looked simple in the movement and handling the brushing tool.
