Abstract: The utilization of biomass as renewable energy is potential to become the fuel and intermediate chemicals supplier. Furfural is one of important derivative chemical substances which is obtained from biomass degradation. Regarding the importance of furfural and its decomposition, this research would investigate several factors which could affect the furfural production and its decomposition.
