dc.description.abstractBackground: Corrosion of NiTi orthodontic coated can be caused by many factors, one of them is acidic pH in fruit flavored tea. Acidic pH will be affected the morphological of surface on NiTi wire such as corrosion. Corrosion on NiTi wire coated corrosion can cause exfoliation the layer. On the use of corrosion NiTi orthodontic give bad effects for human body. Porosity will probably increased susceptibility to corrosion because it can accommodate a plaque of microorganisms, the metal ion release and exfoliation coated. Objective: This Research aims to saw the exfoliation coated on the surface of the Nickel-Titanium Orthodontic wire coated after soaking fruit flavored tea in the SEM. Materials and Methods: This laboratory experimental study used NiTi wire coated brands American Orthodontics were soaked in saliva was added to fruit flavored tea for 10.5 hours and than did the SEM picture. Results: SEM analysis test showed that there were exfoliated layer of coated NiTi wire after soaking fruit flavored tea. Conclusion: There was exfoliated layer of coated NiTi wire after soaking fruit flavored tea.en_US
