Apoptosis is a programmed cell death and is a component of normal development and growth, homeostasis, immunoregulation. Apoptosis resistance is associated with carcinogenesis. Several pathway components which are involved include: Bcl -2, p53, NF-kB, TGF-β, novel protein - survivin. Purpose: to determine several pathways involved in apoptosis resistance can be utilized as a potential target in terminating cancer cells. Conclusion: understanding the involvement of several pathways on apoptosis resistance may be a potential target to activate apoptosis in terminating cancer cells and may contribute to the research – i.e. research on cancer therapy.en_US
