The phenomenon of street beggars is widely found around the area of Tanjung market. A lot of beggars run their lives as street beggars in purpose of getting money to meet their daily needs. They have various ways and causes. As a result, to meet their needs, they work on anything, including begging, as long as they get money. This research used qualitative method. Informants were determined using snowball sampling. Data were collected by observation, interview, and documentation. The collected were then analyzed, the data validity was tested using triangulation technique. It is conluded that the community has two attitudes towards begging; first, the community members, both sellers and buyers, refuse or do not like the presence of the beggars who disturb the public order and peace at Tanjung market. Sellers feel disadvantaged because the beggars have made customers uncomfortable due to their presence; second, the sellers have just ignored the beggars near their store/selling place because the public purchasers do not feel disturbed by the presence of beggars at the market and consider it common for them; in fact, they pity the beggars knowing that their life is so poor, and their condition is really a pity. Thus, there are two behviors of society i.e. rejecting and accepting. Public reject beggars because their behaviors always make restless or disturb public order or sellers and buyers in Tanjung market, and the attitude of accepting the existence of beggars in Tanjung market since the public considers the existence of beggars is common even they feel very sorry since the beggars cannot be cured from such social pahtolohy and, indeed, there are beggars whose condition is poor for the local community. This makes people have never care about the beggars in Tanjung marketen_US
