Abstract: This research aimed to explain the effect of achievement motivation on performance of employees of Jember Regency Social Department. The research used quantitative approach with explanation method. The samples used in the research were employees of Social Department of Jember Regency in total of 31 people. Data were collected by observation, interviews, and questionnaires. Data measurement used Likert scale. Data analysis applied simple regression and t test. The results showed that the achievement motivation significantly affected performance of employees. The levels of the effect of achievement motivation will be followed by an increase in the performance by 0.513, or 51.3%. This analysis showed that the level of performance of employees is affected by the employees’ achievement motivation.
