PERAN PEMERINTAH KABUPATEN PASURUAN DALAM PENGENDALIAN LIMBAH

Abstract

This research aimed to describe the role of Pasuruan Government in controlling industrial waste of PT. Chiel Jedang Indonesia. The research used descriptive method with qualitative approach and the focus of this research was the government's role in the control of waste of PT. Cheil Jedang Indonesia. Informants were determined using purposive sampling technique. The sources of data consisted of primary and secondary data. Data were collected by observation, interview, and documentation methods. The research also used triangulation technique for data validity checking through the methods and sources. The data analysis used Miles and Hurberman interactive model. The results showed that Pasuruan government's roles in controlling the industrial waste of PT.Cheil Jedang Indonesia were monitoring, field inspections or site visit to determine the sources of pollution caused by PT. Cheil Jedang Indonesia and providing technical recommendations, enhancing the public role and awareness. In addition, the government made an innovation in the control of industrial waste, among others, by conducting a research with NGOs as well as forming a team of 10, making of Momentum of Understanding (Muo), making a long-term plan and conduct continuous control.
