Abstract

Tourism is an activity that involves people in undertaking temporary traveling from one place to another intended to enjoy the trip. The development of tourism in thi case is the development done by planning and continuously in order to be competitive for other tourist attractions. This research aimed to describe the role of Tourism and Culture Office in tourism sector development by using qualitative, descriptive method. Data collection techniques used observation methods, interviews and documentation. While the validity of data used triangulation method. Data were analyzed by interactive model analysis of Milles and Huberman. The results showed that Tourism and Culture Office had made tourism development although there were still weaknesses. This is evidenced by data in the form of accountability report of the activities that had been carried out
