dc.description.abstract | Water treatment installation located in Jember region managed by the Regional Water Company (PDAM). The PDAM Jember still use two types of coagulant in installation water treatment (IPA) Tegal Besar and IPA Tegal Gede. Coagulant used for IPA Tegal Besar using Poly Aluminum Chloride (PAC) and IPA Tegal Gede used liquid alum coagulant. Water treatment conducted by coagulation – flocculation method. This research was conducted in PDAM Jember to know which coagulant was more effective and economical based on the variables examined in the process of coagulation-flocculation. Results from this research was the use of PAC coagulant was more effective than liquid alum in the process of coagulation - flocculation in the both IPA to decrease of turbidity, temperature, TDS, TSS and pH. The use of PAC was more economical than liquid alum. | en_US |
