Fossil fuels are non-renewable energy sources. Biomass has to maximized by humans to emphasize the use of fossil fuels. In this research, the rice husks biomass used to reduce the use of fossil fuels by making briquette. Briquette was the result of the mixing biomass with adhesives then molded cylindrical and treated pressure on it. This research was started from June 2014 through August 2014. The purpose of this study were to investigate the characteristics of briquettes produced from the treatment and determine the best adhesive compotition. The analysis used ANOVA with adhesive compotition as a singe factor (4 levels). The result showed that water content and combustion rate were significantly different, and briquette combustion temperature, water temperature in the pot and the amount of output energy were not significantly different. Based on the test, briquette with 15% adhesive has 7,09% water content; 134°C combustion temperature; 55,25 °C water temperature average; 0,0110 g/s combustion rate; and 188 kJ for the amount of output energy was the best treatment.en_US
