dc.description.abstractRiver is a natural drainage channel which provides important services for human life. Jelarai River is situated on the outskirt of Jelarai village, Tanjung Selor district, Bulungan. The morphological of river bend of Jelarai River has been active and altered the existing sheet pile position. In order to solve the existing problem, the comprehensive investigation of geotechnical, structural, and river hydraulic aspects is urgently required. This paper presented only the analysis of hydraulic and sediment transports in the river bend of Jelarai River. The results indicated that during the floods the distribution of flow velocity caused vortex formation and turned back along the outer bend. The back and forth of vortex formation as well as turning flow direction may cause the erosion of bank where the sheet pile is established. Therefore the countermeasures are needed to protect the more sheet pile failuresen_US
