dc.description.abstractThe aims of this study to analyse the characteristics of TIMSS Test of 2011 which is a problem with a high difficulty index for junior high school students in Indonesia. Data were collected through a qualitative study on the score TIMSS 2011 and through technical test. The data were analyzed qualitatively by considering the aspects of content, cognitive, Indonesia's score at the international level on the results of TIMSS 2011. The descriptive analysis covers aspects of language comprehension and critical thinking process on the students test results of TIMSS 2011. The results show that the TIMSS questions of 2011 whose have high difficulty index are questions with percentage of correctness answers 0%, 1%, and 9%. The result also indicates that the use of English language in TIMSS test package gives significantly affect to the low score of Indonesian students in TIMSS 2011.en_US
