dc.description.abstractThere are two significant things to discuss: The communication system used by the Islamic boarding house community (the communication system includes relationship among kyai, ustadz, and boards of the Islamic boarding house) and some factors cause mischief and misunderstanding in interpreting the teachers’ instruction. The communication system used by “A” salaf Islamic boarding house community is a cold communication system and it needs mediators who know the teachers well. There are three obstructions related to the cold communication, i.e: the low educated students, the traditional paternalistic culture, and the social factors namely the social status in the Islamic boarding house that causes a distance between the teachers and the students.en_US
