Abstract: Employment in sub-sectors of the food processing industry in Probolinggo shows that the elastic character of the value of the coefficient of elasticity of 2.17, which means an increase in the production of the sub-sectors of the food processing industry in Probolinggo by 1%. This causes an increase in the number of workers absorbed in the sub-sectors of the food processing industry in Probolinggo at 2.17%. Based on the calculation capabilities of food processing industry sub-sector in GDP accounted Probolinggo can be seen that the contribution of the sub sectors of the food processing industry to GDP during the period 2005-2009 tended to rise. In 2005 the contribution of the sub sectors of the food processing industry to GDP was Rp. 199,029.19 or 3.88% of the total GDP in 2005 in the amount of 5,126,680.92. While the average contribution of sub-sectors of the food processing industry to GDP Probolinggo is 3.75% per year. The growth of the food processing industry sub-sector in Probolinggo period of 2005-2009 continues to increase. Prospects for the next five years according to constant price production value sub-sectors of the food processing industry has increased in 2014 to reach Rp 280,143.59. While employment growth in the sub-sectors of the food processing industry continues to increase until 2014 and employment trends in the food processing industry subsector forecast to reach 9149.1 soul.
