Abstract: Breast milk is the most appropriate nutrition for newborns until 6 months age because at that periode they can’t digest foods other than breast milk. Milk ejection is a very complex interaction which mechanical stimulation, nerves and various hormones. One of the factors that make mothers not able to breastfeed their babies exclusively is that the breastmilk does not run smoothly. Breast milk ejection can be stimulated by marmet techniques. Marmet techniques is an intervention that includes a milk ejection and massage which is apply on the breast area for 20-30 minutes. This research was intended to identify the effectiveness of applying marmet technique for milk ejection in breastfeeding mothers of 0-6 months in the work area of public health center of arjasa, jember regency. This research was quasy experimental study with non equivalent control group design and systematic random sampling. Data analysis with Mann Whitney U Test. The results of data by SPSS showed p-value (0.000) <α(0.05), which means that Ho was rejected, so it can be concluded that the application of Marmet technique is effective on for milk ejection of breastmilk of 0-6 month breastfeeding mothers in the work area of public health center of Arjasa, Jember Regency. The nurse is expected to use the marmet technique to milk ejection in breastfeeding mothers at 0-6 months.
