The population of thi s r e se a r c h w a s the e l e ve nt h g r a de stud e nts a t S MAN Ar jasa in the 2012/2013 Ac a de mi c Y e a r . T wo c la sses we re tak e n a s the e x pe rimen tal c lass a nd c ontro l c lass without ra ndom se lec ti on be c a use the re se a r c he r used none quivale nt g roups p ostt e st onl y de si g n. T he c lass e s we re X I S oc ial 1 (e x pe rimen tal g roup) a n d X I S c ienc e 5 (c ontrol g roup) . The tot a l number s of the re sponde nts w e re 70 students that c onsi sted of 34 students of X I S o c ia l 1 a s the e x pe rimen tal g roup that wa s taug ht b y usin g P icture s in se rie s, a nd 36 s tudents X I S c ienc e 5 a s the c ontrol g roup that wa s tau g ht b y lec turing m e thod. The pr im a r y da ta of thi s re se a r c h we r e c oll e c t e d fr om the students‟ sc or e s of spea king a c hieve ment t e st. The supporting da t a we re g a ined fr om int e rvie w a nd doc umenta ti on. The stud e nts‟ spea kin g a c hieve m e nt wa s c oll e c ted f rom the post test to make the c ompar ison be twe e n th e two g roups a fte r th e tre a tm e nt done . The re sult s of the re se a rc h we re a n a l y z e d b y usin g t test f or mul a . The re sult of the a na l y sis indi c a ted that the statis ti c a l va lue of t test wa s 2.48, while the t table with the sig nific a nt leve l of 5% a nd the de g r e e of fr e e dom (D f) of 68 wa s 1. 67. The va lue of t test wa s hi g he r than th e va lue of t table (2.48 > 1. 67). The r e for e , the null h y pothesis (H o) whic h wa s fo rmula ted: “ T he r e is no sig nific a nt e ff e c t of using Indon e sian folklore pictur e s in s e rie s on the e leve nth gr a de students‟ spea kin g a c hie ve ment test in stor y telli ng a t S MA N Ar jasa in the 2012/2013 a c a de mi c y e a r” w a s r e jec ted . On the other ha nd, the a lt e rna ti ve h y pothesis (H a ) whic h sa y s: “t he r e is a sig nific a nt e ff e c t of usin g I ndon e sia n folklore pictur e s in s e r ies on the e lev e nth gr a d e students‟ spea king a c hiev e ment t e st in stor y telli n g a t S MAN Ar jasa in the 2012/2013 a c a d e mi c y e a r” w a s ac c e pted.
