PENGARUH PEMBERIAN PENDIDIKAN KESEHATAN REPRODUKSI DI SEKOLAH MELALUI METODE TEMAN SEBAYA (PEER GROUP EDUCATION) TERHADAP PENGETAHUAN, SIKAP DAN PERILAKU SEKSUAL REMAJA SMU DI KABUPATEN JEMBER (The Influence of Reproductive Health Education with Peer Group Method on Knowledge, Attitude and Sexual Behavior of Senior High School Adolescent in Jember Regency)

Abstract

Adolescent has big proportion in Indonesian demography. Many serious problems such as free sex, abortion, unwanted pregnancy, and sexual transmitted disease increase among teenagers. One of factors that encourage free sex among adolescent is lack of reproductive health knowledge. Peer group education is one of method that can be used in reproductive health education to increase reproductive health knowledge among teenagers. Adolescent can guide their peer group through discussion about reproductive health. The aim of this research was to identify the influence of peer group education on knowledge, attitude and sexual behavior of senior high school adolescent in Jember regency. This study was quasi experiment with one group pretest-posttest design. Sample was chosen by cluster sampling. Total of respondents was 120. Data were collected using questionnaire. The statistical analysis with Wilcoxon test resulted p = 0.000 (p<0.05). There is significant difference of knowledge, attitude and sexual behavior before and after peer group education. It means there is influence of reproductive health education with peer group method on knowledge, attitude and sexual behavior of senior high school adolescent in Jember regency.
